Dura Mater brings me back to LJ
I'm re-writing Dura Mater again and I feel that the final draft is immenent. I had been writing this screeplay with Geoff called THE FORREST. However, Geoff admitedly wants to overwrite it; and now he wants to change the whole plot. I've gotten to this point with him where the script is in the second draft and it has a begining a middle and an end. That's it I'm bailing out.

I was really in a study groove writing Dura Mater. However, I had a dream sequence written down; and it just said, "Dream Sequence". That is why I came back to LJ, it was my Dream Journal for a very long time. This worked and I figured out what the dream sequence is going to be. The biggest problem with the script right now is that there are a lot of setting changes. When I started this I wanted it to be kinda like Repulsion; just this girl in her apartment going insane. It's kinda all over the place now, but I'm likeing it.

Movie Magic and Manic Depression
So, where have I been? I've been making a movie.

Geoff and I are co-directing and I really have mixed feelings about it. I think the movie is going to be good, however I think it will be seen as a movie by the guy who did INVERSES. I don't think my voice is really coming through on this, and we aren't even in the cutting room yet.

I can't even really get into talking about the shoot, it was just kinda fucked up.

Roman was a big help. I never thought I would need a script supervisor that bad. I would like to credit him with assistant dir. but Geoff doesn't want to.

The shoot was three 15 hour days. I had a seizure on the last day and destroyed a toilet.

I get exhausted just thinking about it. But, I'm really proud of the stuff I shot; that's going to look really good.

Oh, my actors were awesome! They were both older guys, one was named JimBob. He's a huge Fellini fan and was totally into being a dirty old man in a very indearing (not really dirty/creepy) way. He told jokes and old anecdotes all the time and everyone liked him.

Jerry was supercool. He is a lawyer who is starting to retire and do things HE wants to do. Which I think is awesome; and I was very proud to be a part of that for him. Jerry and I talked a lot and bonded.

The make up girl was really cool too. She was very real, in a good way, which is hard to pull off. People are either to hostile or looking for attention. Annie was just there and when she thought it she said it and it was always consistent.

I would also like to think Joe Stone and the members of TREMENDOUS FUCKING.

I wrote a response to that infamous letter. I have no idea weather or not I'll mail it.

I had the most exciting nightmare on Halloween! FADE IN: I'm in the drivers seat of a car. Judging by how tired I am and the particular way the fade is done I believe that I have just had a seizure. I'm terrified! Did I have a seizure did I wreck my car, did I kill someone am I hurt!?! Then the dashboard becomes a negative image. I suddenly think, this is a negative image this is not real; and then I woke up.

ANALYSIS: This was exciting to me because I realized that something negative was not real and that brought me into reality. I found it to be a very encouraging moment.

zapruda is blah.
I've met prosthetic legs with more get-up-and-go than you. Could you be less melancholy and go out and do something?

I got to Ethics class early and started a conversation with the girl cattycorner to me. She said she was also taking a coarse debating evolution vs. creationism. I was shocked to hear this was an actual class, but kept my composier. Then she's like, "I grew up in a very christian household and I went to a perokial school; so I barely knew what evolution was." And I was not strapped in/ready for that, the conversation became very awkward and ended abruptly.

I went to see A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE with some friends it was good people laughed a lot. If anyone else has seen it I'd like to hear what you thought

Here is a review...

S P O I L E R S !!!!

To say this movie is Straw Dogs meets the Incredible Hulk is accurate to the point where it gives away aspects of the plot. A good friend of mine was coining movie genres and one was the Die Hard genre of the guy with little dick gets big dick. This is kind of the opposite. Also very subtle themes as to the genetics of violence.

I'm downloading music right now. I should be doing homework.

Papers in order?
Doing fafsfa stuff blows. I hate the financial aid office already. They told me to fill all the stuff out on line and I was like, "so what exactly is your job then"? They never did answer that question, either did the office of the register when I went there.

Bought groceries the other day. Yesterday was so fucking boring, I hate holidays. There was nobody in Bloomington, at all.

I'm still going crazy a lil bit.

I always read Mareen Dowd's op-ed but she's all feminist lately and it's more than I could take. I left this comment on the NYT discussion board.

Womyn with a Y as in Why:

I'm really sick of Ms. Dowd's feminist bellyaching. Although very interesting as a 100 level Womyn's/Gender's study paper it is not at the level of the New York Times.

Genicide in the Sudan, a hornets nest in Iraq and the worst US president ever and she's talking about how I should feel sorry for groupies. In her essay on the baseball scandal she talked about villafying the boys of summer, especially for their horrible attitudes and treatment of womyn. Why would someone so intelligent as Ms. Dowd identify with someone as base as a groupie. She even goes so far as to assume they weren't aware of what they were, and didn't get off on it; and it is this naivety that makes the left look stupid. What's next throwing a pitty party for Limp Bizkit groupies instead of commenting on Chechnian rebels massacre children?

Then she goes on to comment on Martha Stewart's injustice. I hate that I have to take Martha's side on that issue; but there were bigger things to comment on. Socialism is kicking the ass of American capitalism. The EU has the new Airbus plane, BMW bought RR, and the Socialist party took over Portugal. These are real issues that a REAL newspaper would be talking about. Not taking the side of some billionare while millions of people go with out healthcare in a recession that has been forgotten about.

Now she makes this generalization of men and it's just too much. Do they do this kind of thing at Le Monde, I think the NYT is modeling itself more after THE MIRROR than THE GAURDIAN.

Saw the Ring 2, and it was good. The crowd of teenagers was on one hand annoying, but on the other hand they would truely scream really loud at the, "scarey" parts. There was a lot of story, I dare say a little bit to much. Sissy Spacek was awesome! There were some silly parts indeed as Euro guero Phile pointed out. I have to say again, Naomi Watts can do no wrong!

DREAM: I was at an art show in the frozen section of a grocery store. The painting exhibit I was really interested in was on the migration of a trout like fish in the sea. It's predator some kinda wierd monster fish was huge and would jump in and out of the water causing massive waves, pulling them into the sea. I was curious about this so I was going to ask about it. This prof woman came in and gave her speach about what her students were doing. I asked about the painting but it was gone, in its place hung this huge edition of Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karanina and War & Peace. She looked at me like I was a fool so I said, "maybe it's over here". I took her to a snack aisle and she was like, "this is absurd". I looked around for it and then Joy Division's, TRANSMISSION, came on and I was like, "you see just like Joy Division". Everyone left but me and the lights went out, the paintings were lit by the lights still on in the freezer behind them. I saw the missing painting, and the artist was standing in shadows near the door. THEN....
I had a seizure while driving my old car that I wrecked while having a seizure. I was rescued by a childhood neighbor, and I kept asking if I really had a seizure or just dreamt about it.

Count Chocula!
I got this from Dontcallmemandy.

If Your Child is a Gothic, Reform Through the Lord!
Listed below are some warning signs to indicate if your
child may have gone astray from the Lord.

Gothic (or goth) is a very obscure and often dangerous
culture that young teenagers are prone to participating in. The gothic culture leads young, susceptible minds into an imagined world of evil, darkness, and violence. Please seek immediate attention through counselling, prayer,
and parental guidance to rid your child of Satan's temptations if five or more of the following are applicable to your child:

-Frequently wears black clothing.
-Wears band and/or rock t-shirts.
-Wears excessive black eye makeup, lipstick or nailpolish.
-Wears any odd, silver jewelry or symbols. Some of these include: reversed crosses, pentagrams, pentacles, ankhs or various other Satanic worshipping symbols.
-Shows an interest in piercings or tattoos.
-Listens to gothic or any other anti-social genres of music. (Marilyn Manson claims to be the anti-Christ, and publicly speaks against the Lord. Please discard any such albums IMMEDIATELY.)
-Associates with other people that dress, act or speak eccentrically.
-Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such as: the Bible, prayer, church or sports.
-Shows an increasing interest in death, vampires, magic, the occult, witchcraft or anything else that involves Satan.
-Takes drugs.
-Drinks alcohol.
-Is suicidal and/or depressed.
-Cuts, burns or partakes in any other method of self-mutilation. (This is a Satanic ritual that uses pain to detract from the light of God and His love. Please seek immediate attention for this at your local mental health center.)
-Complains of boredom.
-Sleeps too excessively or too little.
-Is excessively awake during the night.
-Dislikes sunlight or any other form of light. (This pertains to vampires promoting the idea that His light is of no use.)
-Demands an unusual amount of privacy.
-Spends large amounts of time alone.
-Requests time alone and quietness. (This is so that your child may speak to evil sprits.)
-Insists on spending time with friends while unaccompanied by an adult.
-Disregards authority figures; teachers, priests, nuns and elders are but a few examples of this.
-Misbehaves at school.
-Misbehaves at home.
-Eats excessively or too little.
-Eats goth-related foods. Count Chocula cereal is an example of this.
-Drinks blood or expresses an interest in drinking blood. (Vampires believe this is how to attain Satan. This act is very dangerous and should be stopped immediately.)
-Watches cable television or any other corrupted media sources. (Ask your local church for proper programs that your child may watch.)
-Plays videos games that contains violence or role-playing nature.
-Uses the internet excessively and frequently makes time for the computer.
-Makes Satanic symbols and/or violently shakes head to music.
-Dances to music in a provocative manner.
-Is homosexual ad/or bisexual.
-Pursues dangerous cult religions. Such include: Satanism, Scientology, Philosophy, Paganism, Wicca, Hinduism and Buddhism.
-Wears pins, stickers or anything else that contains these various phrases: "I'm so gothic, I'm dead", "woe is me", "I'm a goth".
-Claims to be a goth.

If five or more of these apply to your child, please intervene immediately. The gothic culture is dangerous and Satan thrives within it. If any of these problems persist, enlist your child into your local mental health center./>

The man is an artist

Dose our culture congratulate itself for taking interest in the lack of original ideas personified by the name of Steven Spielberg? Do his films take chances or take risks in order to amplify, change or challenge the cultural though process? Dose Steven Spielberg take risks, or does he simulate the idea of taking risks? What risk was involved in making Saving Private Ryan or Schindler’s List, or adopting a black child? Was there any risk at all? Would Steven Spielberg have adopted that same child in the deep South of the 1950s where there would have been risk of being called a "nigger lover"? Were the adoption of a black child and the subject matter of his movies actually business decisions for which he knew he would be congratulated?
When Steven Spielberg clutched his Academy Award for Schindler’s List, saying it’s for the "six million," was he speaking of a quantity of people killed, or the quantity of dollars poured into his bank account?

You&apos;re the Tortured Intellectual!
You're the Tortured Intellectual!
Take What sort of Hipster are you? today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.</p>
You're sensitive, you're emotional, and you wonder why everyone else in the world exists on a different plane. You cannot eat, breathe, or sleep without analyzing each action to death. You're usually sombre, depressed, lethargic, but you can be nearly glad from time to time. You wear whatever you can find on your cluttered bedroom floor. You carry books, notepads, reading glasses with you wherever you go. You have friends, but only a few who truly get where you're coming from. You frequent coffee shops, libraries, and the less crowded bars. You're obsessed with past people, past ideas, past lives. You wish you could die and be reborn as Jack Kerouac.
